Owner's name on front fixed endpaper, 8vo. 295 pp plus 9 pages about the author and 11 pages of advertising for the publisher. Original green cloth boards with embossed castle, dark green and gilt stamping on the front cover and spine and gold tipped pages in near fine condition with the usual edgewear to the spine and some toning to the pages. This LIMITED EDITION has a red and black tissue guard over the portrait of Charles Major with the text reading: "THE great number of requests for portraits. suitable for framing, of the author of "When Knighthood Was in Flower," has led the publishers to present this India proof, copper-plate engraving, It may be removed without defacing the book.
