Dali, Salvador - Dali: Les Dïners de Gala

Title: Dali: Les Dïners de Gala
Description: New York, Felicie Inc, 1973. 1st Edition. Dali. 1st Edition. First edition, hardcover in cloth with Dali painting (8 3/4 x 12 1/4”, 22.5 x 31 cm) in a gold gilt dust jacket, 322pp, printed, by Draeger Frères, and bound in France. Dali’s satirical and irreverent lampooning of haute cuisine dedicated and inspired by his wife, Gala, and translated into English by Captain J. Peter Moore from recipes created in the French restaurants, Lasserre, Maxim’s, La Tour d’Argent, and Le Buffet de la Gare de Lyon. This book is copiously populated with drawings, photos and colour reproductions from Dali’s unique imagination. The dust jacket shows some wear and inevitable scratches on the gilt surface with slight wear on the cloth cover. A celebration of Dali’s boundless, offbeat humour. This book is in very good condition. A superb example from perhaps the greatest artist of this past century - we know he would agree. Ill.: Dali.
