The proceedings reflected both the historical significance and the ongoing influence of Darwin's ideas in various scientific disciplines. This particular edition was owned by E.M.Forster as well as Laura Mary Forster. Charles Darwin stayed at her house in Surrey in 1879 and Laura was a lifelong friend of Darwin’s eldest daughter Henrietta. Size: 8.1/2" x 10 1/2" in the original quarter beige buckram, dark brown paper sides. The cover has Gold and Red stamping as well as blind embossing around the University of Cambridge emblem. The spine has browning and on the back cover a small layer of the paper has been rubbed off. All binding tight and no markings. This is a unique and very good copy of a scarce limited edition publication. .
