Description: Venice, California, Fritz Lieber, 1968. First Edition. First Edition. Leiber, Fritz. TYPED LETTER SIGNED (TLS). One sheet of stationery, measuring 8 1/2" x 11". Typed on beige stock signed "Fritz" in thick black marker ink, dated March 6, 1968. He was attending the Third Annual NEBULA AWARDS BANQUETS March 16, 1968 and was looking for accommodations. Paul Anderson also attended the banquet and his name is mentioned in the letter. Reginald Bretnor was an American science fiction author and friend. "March 6 1968 Dear Reg, I would certainly be grateful if you and Mrs. Bretnor could sleep myself and my wife Jonquil at your home on the nights of March 15th and 16th.I apologize for my long delay in making this request suggested to me by Poul, and I will understand if you cannot accomodate us . in any case , I shall be seeing you at the conference and the banque(s)t. Fritz Leiber was one of the most important science fiction, fantasy, and horror writers in the world during the 1940’s through the 1980’s. He authored: THE BIG TIME (1958 Hugo Award Winner), NIGHT’S BLACK AGENTS (Leiber’s 1st book, an early Arkham House publication [1947]), OUR LADY OF DARKNESS, (1978 World Fantasy Award Winner; 1977 British Fantasy Award winner), & many more. Fritz Leiber's importance to the writing of science fiction, fantasy, and horror stories is inestimable. Signed letters by Fritz are rare to find. .
