This copy belonged to the political theorist BERNARD CRICK and bears his dated signature 1957 on the front endpaper, together with his minor marginal scorings and a couple of notes on the rear endpaper. In 1993, Crick established the Orwell Prize with sponsorship from The Political Quarterly to honour political writing. He was also known as the biographer for George Orwell. Glued to the front pastedown is a typed, signed letter from Leonard Woolf to Bernard Crick requesting him to review the book for The Political Quarterly. .
