One page ALS on plain white letterhead: "Dear Mr. Steinway, I well remember my first recital, many years ago. On an American Steinway concert grand - and my exclamation that it was the most beautiful piano I had ever played on. Even its number is fixed in my memory! Since than the gratitude for these wonderful instruments has never varied. It is a great pleasure to join in the felicitation to you on a century of distinguished services to the cause of music.
