Description: 1867-1878 6 volumes (complete) + catalogue méthodique. vi, 251, viii, 270, vii, 256, 262, x, 512, iv, 398, 37 p., 3 (of 5) b/w pls (A, B, E), 69 coloured pls (1-58, 45 and 46 used twice but separate plates, 1-9), 12mo (12 x 18 cm), half plumb coloured basane leather, the spine of volume 5 more reddish than the other volumes, gilt and blind tooled lined on the spines. The catalogue is paperbound. Ex libraries: E. Lignier (with his stamp) & Michel Beaurain (with his ex libris). Some slight scattered foxing. Although two black/white plates are missing (all 69 coloured plates present) still a good set. Volume six is often missing and was published one year before BerceâÇÖs death, and treats the microlepidoptera (Hétérocères. Deltoides, Pyralites). Berce writes in his introduction:âÇÖâÇÖNous avons longtemps hésité à entreprendre ce sixième volume malgré les encouragements de plusiers de nos collègues; la crainte de faire un travail incomplet nous avait retenuâÇÖâÇÖ.
