Title: Bibliographia Araneorum. Analyse methodique de toute la litterature araneologique jusqu'en 1939.
Description: 1945-1961 Three volumes (in 7, complete). xvii, 832, 5058, 591 p., 27 plates (portraits), half cloth with marbled boards(original printed covers bound in), gilt author/title on spine. Library stamps, two volumes bound later in same style, a few volumes have some wear on joints. Bound in in volume three is: a copy of Pierre BonnetâÇÖs âǘâÇÖEn marge de Bibliographia AraneorumâÇÖâÇÖ (1961), in which in 16 pages he presents five poems on the subject. A good set. Pierre Bonnet (1897-1990) is mostly known for his magnum opus the ''Bibliographia Araneorum'' which he published privately in only about 300 copies (of which Bonnet says that only 242 are complete!). This work totals 6498 pages and contains a wealth of biographical (first volume) and bibliographical information (the second and main volume). The third volume gives a list of all known generic (2524) and specific names (23068) and the conclusions, including a curious, sometimes hilarious, but interesting description of the hardships and trouble Bonnet went through writing, publishing and selling this work. At the end of volume 3 there is also a list of all the whereabouts of the sold copies. Four were sold to the Netherlands including this one.
