This work totals 6498 pages and contains a wealth of biographical (first volume) and bibliographical information (the second and main volume). The third volume gives a list of all known generic (2524) and specific names (23068) and the conclusions, including a curious, sometimes hilarious, but interesting description of the hardships and trouble Bonnet went through writing, publishing and selling this work. At the end of volume 3 there is also a list of all the wereabouts of the sold copies. Four were sold to the Netherlands including this one.
