Extensive part of Meyer's Zeitungs-Atlas, here with the subscription title (later: Neuester Zeitungs-Atlas für Alte & Neue Erdkunde), published in installments and therefore often incomplete. - The "œbasic edition" (1849-1852) is considered complete with 123 maps. Supplementary editions were published until 1857, which could extend the basic edition to up to 150 maps. - "œIn all, there were probably nine versions of the atlas under various forms of the title - Zeitungs-Atlas`, depending on the status of the different installments and installment titles" (Espenhorst). - Present are the early deliveries, the maps mostly dated 1849, only eight maps dated 1850.
