Description: E. Typographeo Clarendiano, Oxonii, 1871. Linnen band. Pp: 806. The Old Testament of Origen, "Origenis Hexaplorum", containing the complete Genesis to Malachi Old Testament in two huge volumes. The original Hebrew is paired with detailed Latin commentary, and Greek as well, in this very historically important work. The term "Hexaplorum" (Hexapla), in this case, does not refer to six parallel columns of text (as it does in the 1841 Hexapla New Testament of Bagster), but rather, it is a reference to the six source documents for the Old Testament (four of which were actually Greek Septuagint) used by Origen. Cond./Kwaliteit: Goed.
