JAR was born. The small firm in Paris employs four people. It has never advertised and has only organised one very private exhibition at the National Academy of Design in New York on November 30, 1987, to celebrate JAR's tenth aniversary. And still, publicity shy Rosenthal and his partner, Pierre Jeannet, had the show last merely three hours. Without marketing campaigns or the backing of a multinational group, jewels by JAR are today sought after by collectors in Europe, Asia and America who are attracted by the design and quality of his pieces. Volume 2 is a new book featuring JAR jewelry created over the last decade, with 316 numbered objects.
