Modern half morocco. Augsburg, 1744. First edition of these fables with the beautiful engraved plates by Johann Elias Ridinger (1609-1744) issued in 5 installments. A further series of 4 more plates (numbered 17-20) were later produced, and published by his son Matthias Elias Ridinger after his father's death in 1767. It lacks in most copies known to us as in this case and also in the copy of BSB Munich.
