Johanna Spyri (1827-1901) created with both "Heidi" novels the most important Swiss contribution to children's literature after the "Swiss Robinson" by J. R. Wyss. Her classic and beloved work saw countless editions and more than 55 translations. Vol. 1 was published anonymously, specially this part is rare. Spyri's "Heidi" was included in 2023 in the UNESCO-Register "Memory of the World".
