First edition of an album of humorous and amusing caricatures of housekeeping by Gédéon Baril (1832-1906). He was a contributor to several satirical journals in Paris for many years, and became one of the wittiest chronicler his time. Gédéon Baril published some albums, among them in 1870 ("Les Vainqueurs") after moving to Amiens. He also illustrated some of Jules Verne's books.
