Description: Leipzig and Heidelberg, C. F. Winter,1859-1860. Two volumes in two (text and atlas). Large 8vo (24.2 x 16.0 cm). Title pages (for both parts in two different forms), 592 pp [xvi, 142; 434]; 61 engraved plates [12; 49 (I-XII; I-XLVIII, XXXVI-1]. Uniform contemporary half calf over marbled boards. Edges sprinkled red. = A finely illustrated work, not often found in a complete state with all 61 plates. The second part is the largest by far, and deals mostly with Echinodermata. In this set, all the plates are bound separately from the texts. Boards rubbed, scattered foxing (as usual), rather vague, marginal damp stain at lower edge of the first 20 plates. In all a good set.
