Title: Echinodermes. Etudes locales et comparatives. Extraits du système Silurien du Centre de la Bohême. Vol. VII, Echinodermes. 4 planches Nos 1, 9, 26, 30. Ouvrage posthume de feu Joachim Barrande, publié par le Doct. W. Waagen. Édité par le Musée Bohême.
Description: Prague, Musée Bohême, 1887. 8vo (24.0 x 15.5 cm). 355 pp; four double-sized, lithographed plates with explanatory text. Original printed wrappers. = Essentially, this is Barrande's complete, finely illustrated contribution to the ontology of the echinoderms, showing the larval stages of crinoids and other echinoderms. Joachim Barrande was in fact one of the first palaeontologists to fully appreciate the value of the early skeleton in systematics. This work was published, after Barrande's death, by his successor, the German palaeontologist Wilhelm Heinrich "William" Waagen (1841-1900). Uncut. A very good, clean copy - apart from some light foxing, and slight soiling to the edges in mint condition.
