Original printed wrappers. = The authors's main work, dealing with faunas from the earliest Carboniferous, just following the upper Devonian. Well-illustrated. Many species are new. Inscribed and signed by the first author, the Belgian palaeontologist and geologist Raphael Conil (1930-1990), viz., a dedication to Professeur Lecompte, i.e., the Belgian palaeontologist, specialized in Devonian fossils, Marius Joseph Lecompte (1902-1970). Conil's co-author was a French colleague, Maurice Lys (1914-1998). Loosely inserted, an 8 pp. leaf containing the title of the work as part of the series, Mémoires, Tome XXIII, AND as a separate, stand-alone publication. Some very light wear to wrapper edges, otherwise a fine copy.
