Title: Résultats Scientifiques du Voyage aux Indes Orientales Neerlandaises. 3. Famille Conidae.
Description: Bruxelles, Musée royal d'Histoire naturelle de Belgique, 1937. Large 4to (32.0 x 23.6 cm). 284 pp.; 3 full colour plates. Burgundy grained cloth with gilt title on the spine. Original printed wrappers bound in. = A well-illustrated work. This copy inscribed in the top margin of the front free endpaper by the leading Conidae specialist of the second half of the 20th, and early years of the 21st century, Alan Jacob Kohn (1931-2022). Loosely inserted: a 4 pp. "Avant-propos" noting that after the death of Paul Dupuis (1869-1931), chief malacologist at the zoological museum in Brussels, Philippe Dautzenberg (1849-1935) took over the work on Terebridae, Mitridae, and Conidae, but Dautzenberg's death, in 1935, prevented him from completing the work. It was edited, but not completed by another Belgian malacologist, Eugène Leloup (1902-1981). A few markings and annotations by Kohn. Light shelf wear, otherwise a very good copy.
