Yellow endpapers. = The index of the rare start and early series of one of the longest running and most influential ornithological magazines. Especially the earlier years, with fine plates by Keulemans, Grönvold and others, are very uncommon and sought-after. Armorial bookplate of the British ornithologist Percy Sanden Godman (1836-1922), brother of the British entomologist (chiefly Lepidopterist) and ornithologist Frederick Ducane Godman (1834-1919), mounted on the front pastedown. Covers with some staining, spine ends a bit frayed. Otherwise a very good copy.
