He was the leader of the French scientific expedition to Egypt, which was part of Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte's military campaign. Savigny wrote the parts on mammals and several other groups of animals, and edited many others. Written by the French-Algerian naturalist Paul Pallary (1869-1942) who was an important malacologist and shell-dealer in Northern Africa. Uncut. With the widest possble margins. Chip in the margin of the last 12 leaves of the second volume. The flimsy wrappers detached and much chipped, otherwise a very good, clean set.
