The author, the Russian zoologist Vladimir Timofeyevich Shevyakov, or, in French, Schewiakoff (1859-1930) stated, in the preface, that in 1889 he was invited by the director of the zoological station in Naples to study Radiolaria, and that the work was still far from finished, resulting in publishing an interim report. Published in the Academy's Mémoires. All parts of this series are extremely rare. Uncut. Wrapper fore edge a bit chipped, otherwise an excellent, clean copy.
