Original printed wrappers. = A massive work, dealing with the benthic polychaete worms of the northeastern Atlantic, including many new species. Written by the French invertebrate zoologist and leading 'polychaetologist' of the first half of the 20th century, Pierre Louis André Fauvel (1866-1958). A polychaete family, Fauveliopsidae, was named after him. A similar-titled sister paper by Fauvel dealing with the pelagic forms is much smaller and much more common. Very ligt shelf wear, internally clean, unmarked. A near mint copy.
