With author's dedications to the Belgian palaeontologist, marine biologist, malacologist, mammalogist and Cetacea specialist, Pierre-Joseph Van Beneden (1809-1894), author of, for instance, Description des ossements fossiles des environs d'Anvers. And with the author's complimentary card (printed, with a third address added in ink), mounted on the front wrapper verso. Uncut. Edges, therefore, a bit rough, with the wrappers partly chipped (especially at ront bottom), ypine reinforced long time ago, yet partly abraded. Internally a very good copy.
