Author: Cottreau, J. Title: Paléontologie de Madagascar. X. Fossiles crétacés de la cote orientale.
Description: Paris, Masson, 1922. 4to (27.5 x 22.0 cm). 84 pp. (numbered 109-192); 11 tissue-guarded plates (numbered I-XI) with explanatory text leaves. Later black cloth with gilt title on the spine. = A rarely seen work by the French palaeontologist Jean Cottreau (1877-1945) on Cretaceous molluscs (bivalves, gastropods; no ammonites), echinoderms (Cottreau's forte), and bryozoids (by F. Canu). The fine plates shows an intriguing, rather poorly preserved fauna (the bivalves and echinoderms are generally much better preserved). Several species are new. Published in Annales de Paléontologie volume 11, together with a work on French Eocene mammals. A very good, clean copy.
