Two title pages (French and Russian) each; 878 pp. (I [1911]: xlviii, 251; II[1] [1912]: [i]138, [i], II[2] [1914]139-526, [i]); 214 text figures [44; 20, 150], seven plates [2; 1, 2-5]. Original uniform printed wrappers. = Part of the most important series on the Russian fauna, this being the complete part on hydroid polyps. Written by the Russian invertebrate zoologist Aleksandr (or Alexander) Kelsievich Linko (1872-1912), and partly published after his death. The second part, a continuation of the Plumulariidae, Campanulinidae and Sertulariidae being (re)written by N. V. Kudelin. Richly illustrated and containing the descriptions of many new or poorly known species. Text uncut, partly unopened. Wrappers age-toned and brittle at edges (the text pages are on much better paper), vague stamp and cancellation stamp on front wrappers, otherwise clean. A very good, complete copy. Rare.
