Title: Catalogue des mollusques terrestres et fluviatiles de l'Hérault.
Description: Montpellier, Virenque, Coulet, 1863. 8vo (23.2 x 15.9 cm cm). 15 pp. Later yellow protective blind wrappers. Original printed front wrapper bound in. = One of several mid to late19th-century regional catalogues of molluscs. Almost every French département had its own keen malacologist tackling the local malacofauna. This one written by the French malacologist Ernest Dubrueil (1828-1885), covers the Hérault, a département in southern France, with Montpellier as its captal. Stamp of the American malacologist Richard Irwin Johnson (1925-2020) in the top margin of the front wrapper. Upper outer corner clipped, but the handrwitten text "à la so" still present, suggesting that Dubrueil dedicated this copy to a society. Otherwise an excellent, clean copy. Rare.
