Description: Carcassonne, Société d’Études scientifiques de l’Aude, 1894-1897. 8vo (21.6 x 15.4 cm). 74 pp. [167-175; 171-213; 119-140] pp. Contemporary blind wrappers and protective blind wrappers. = One of several mid to late-19th century regional catalogues of non-marine molluscs. Almost every French département had its own keen malacologist tackling the local malacofauna. This one, written by Jacques Sébastien François Léonce Marie Paul Fagot (1842-1908) was published in three parts over a long period and is seldom found complete. It deals with the rich non-marine malacologically of the Aude département in the south of France, between Toulouse and Carcassonne. Extracted from the Bulletin de la Société d’Études scientifiques de l’Aude, volumes V, VII and VIII. Provenance: stamp of the American malacologist Richard Irwin Johnson (1925-2020) in the top margin of the wrapper and first text page, above the drophead title. A very good copy.
