With a handwritten dedication to the Belgian malacologist and palaeontologist Laurent Guillaume de Koninck (1809-1887), on the blank verso of the front wrapper, "de la part de l'auteur", but written by another French malacologist, Henri Drouët (1829-1900), who acted as an intermediary. Bookplate of the library of the Museum of Comparative Zoology, Dr. L. de Koninck's Library, dated 1886, on the first front wrapper blank verso. Laurent Guillaume de Koninck (1809-1887) was a Belgian palaeontologist and marine zoologist. Stamp of the American malacologist Richard Irwin Johnson (1925-2020) in the top margin of both front wrappers. Internally clean. A very good copy.
