Spine with burgundy leather label with gilt title. Original printed wrappers bound in. = A rare bound copy of seldom-seen publication by the German malacologist Wilhelm Kobelt (1840-1916). This forms a part of Kükenthal's Wissenschäftlige Reiseergebnisse of two travels and explorations of the Moluccas and Borneo (Kalimantan) in the Malay Archipelago (Indonesia). The fine plates are after original drawings by the author, who was an excellent artist. From the library of the American malacologist Richard Irwin Johnson (1925-2020), with his stamp on the front free endpaper recto and front wrapper top margin. A very good copy. Cat.
