Original printed wrappers bound in. = An important monograph with fine illustrations of new and seldom-seen species. Several new genera were included too. Written by one of the most influential German zoologists and malacologists, Emil Karl Hermann Johannes Thiele (1860-1935). Polyplacophora (Amphineura) had his special interest. Published in two parts. With an additional, third title for being part of Zoologica. Original-Abhandlungen aus dem Gesamtgebiete der Zoologie. Herausgegeben von Carl Chun in Leipzig. Heft 56. The explanatory text leaves are numbered; therefore, there are 132 numbered pages while the main text ends on p. 126. Small stamp of the American malacologist Richard Irwin Johnson (1925-2020) in the top margin of the second title. Small damp stain to the lower margin of the last plate; otherwise, an excellent, clean copy.
