Later reddish-brown buckram with gilt title on the spine. = A detailed study of peculiar Oligocene-Miocene faunas from the Rhône valley, and much more recent terrestrial faunas from the same area in south-eastern France. Written by the French malacologist and 'Nouvelle École' adept, Étienne Alexandre Arnould Locard (1841-1904) and published as the complete Volume II of the Archives du Muséum d'Histoire naturelle de Lyon. Several species are new. The explanatory text leaves are printed on thin paper, doubling as tissue guards.
