Description: Posen, 1994-1897. Four volumes in one. 8vo (22.5 x 14.5 cm). 328 pp. [64;96;104;64]; portrait. Original, uniform printed wrappers. In blind, limp boards. = The rare start of a rare botanical periodical, edited by the German botanist Friedrich (Fritz) Karl Adolph Pfuhl (1853-1913), who was a teacher and professor at the Königlichen Akademie zu Posen (now: Poznan, Poland). Each volume consists of two parts. OCLC reports copies in about 20 libraries, mostly in Germany. The binding is protective, but amateurish, acting more like a portfolio. Some damp staining to the lower margins, scattered pencil ticks, notes and underlinings; lacks the rear wrapper of part III(1), otherwise a very good, complete set. Probably this is all that was published. Neither in Cat. BM(NH), nor mentioned by Stafleu and Cowan.
