Large 4to. 614 pp. [vi, 404; xiii, 191]; 112 text illustrations (several quite large), 11 plates (a few in chromolithography), eight tables, one map. Contemporary grained half cloth over marbled boards. Gilt title on the spine. = This volume consists of two parts, with separate pagination and plate numbering. Includes the Beiträge zur Meeresfauna von Helgoland, with chapters on fish, molluscs, copepods, coelanterates and pelagical protozoans and rotifers; as well as a similar work, Beitäge zur Fauna der südöstlichen und östlichen Nordsee (i.e. the same region), dealing with sponges, echinoderms, Bryozoa, Copepoda and Cladocera. Boards rubbed at edges, old stamps on front free endpaper recto and title, otherwise a very good copy.
