Original, uniform printed wrappers. = Part of a javanese poem. The Smithsonian library states "... old Javanese (Kawi) poem in roman transcription; epic in form, didactic in content, describing a voyage without destination, in the course of which the author brings his principal characters in contact with different pandits (teachers) with whom they discuss various mystic theological problems; but the work (containing in the original over 3200 folio pages) is not dull nor tedious; the author gives description of places, scenery, arts and industries, such as agriculture, fisheries, the drama, dancing, etc., rich contributions to the knowledge of the native manners and customs. cf. Encyclopædie van Nederlandsch-Indie¨, 2e druk, 2e deel (1918)". Wrappers somewhat soiled, one rear wrapper frayed, otherwise very good. Rare.
