Author: Panceri, P. Title: La luce e gli organi luminosi di alcuni Anellidi.
Description: Roma, Reale Accademia delle Scienze Fisiche e Matematiche, 1875. 4to. 20 pp.; four fine chromolithographed plates. Original blind wrappers. = A seldom-seen paper on luminosity in invertebrates by the Italian naturalist Paolo Pancini (1833-1877). He wrote several papers on the subject of bioluminscence, dealing with all kinds of different invertebrates, but this seems to be one of the rarest. Offprint from the academy's Atti. Parisian bookseller's label in the lower margin of the front wrapper, private owner's stamp of Émile G. Racovitza (also in Paris) in the margin of a plate. Emil Georges Racovitza (1868-1947) "...was a Romanian biologist, zoologist, speleologist, explorer of Antarctica and the first biologist in the world to study the arctic life" (Wikipedia). Wrappers chipped at edges; slight age-toning, otherwise a very good, clean copy. Not in Nissen.
