Original printed wrappers bound in. = Rare, separately published edition of this early work on the well-preserved fossil sea urchins from the Miocene in the environment of Dax in southwestern France, including the illustrations and descriptions of many new species. This work was also published in the third livraison of the Society's Actes, volume VIII, dated 15 Juillet 1836, but the print date of 1837 on the front wrapper shows that 1837 is the actual year of publication. Uncut. Inscribed "Hommage de l'auteur" in the top margin of the front wrapper. A very good copy. Not in Nissen.
