Original, uniform printed wrappers. = The Hortus at Tienen in Belgium, founded by the suger baron Léon van den Bossche, contained many species and specimens of tropical African plants, chiefly from the Congo. In this series, the Belgian pharmacist and botanist Émile Auguste Joseph de Wildeman (1866-1947) describes many new taxa. The lithographed illustrations - often on large, double-folded plates, are excellent.
