Original embossed and printed cloth. = An authoritative work by the German herpetologist Wilhelm Karl August Klingelhöffer (1871-1953). The full-colour plates come with printed overlays, acting as tissue-guards and providing the names of the animals figured. This is the first edition in the second publisher's binding. The publisher's name on the title page is printed on a mounted strip, covering the previous publisher’s name, viz. Julius E. G. Wegner in Stuttgart. Light wear and light spotting to the bindings (much better than on average), otherwise a very good, clean copy. Adler I, pp. 102-103.
