Marbled endpapers. = A monograph of west Continental European ground beetles, by the French winegrower and entomologist Louis Puel. Published in the series, Miscellanea Entomologica. Pagination is complex. The first 48 pages start with a general introduction dated 1925 and contains a detailed, illustrated key, but stops abruptly, mid-sentence. This is followed by a different introduction, dated 1914, also ending abruptly, on p. 64. Then a section titled Notes sur les carabiques (suite). Les Bembidium de sous-genre Emphanes Mots. espèces de France seulement starts, and this runs to p. 252, only to stop mid-sentence again. Finally, between pp. 200 and 201, a Catalogue with three numbered pages is inserted. Nicely bound. Very good, clean. Rare.
