Original uniform blue cloth, embossed with flower-like pattern, and gilt title on the spines. = Although stated to be a sequel it is in fact a complete work, as it deals with China only. Huc was one of the first to extensively travel through China and to describe the country, people, and their customs for a western public. The large map is quite nice. Both volumes inscribed on the front free endpaper recto (Catherine Weltden or Weltdon to ...). Boards a bit rubbed but otherwise very good. Very uncommon.
