Hand-coloured engraved plate with printed caption. = Well preserved hand-coloured engraving of red and green algae, after original drawings by the renowned French botanical artist Alfred Riocreux (1820-1912), or perhaps his father, and finely engraved by this compatriot, the natural history illustrator and engraver Auguste Duménil.
