Title: Relazione di una escursione geologica in Nicosia, Assaro, Catania, Augusta, Siracusa, Noto, Pachino, Modica, Giarratana. [AND] Il Marchese di Monterosato.
Description: Palermo, Società Siciliana di Scienze Naturali, 1929. Very large 8vo (28.5 x 19.4 cm). 72 pp.; 11 plates. = Two late contributions to malacology by the Sicilian naturalist and palaeontologist Marchese Antoine de Gregorio (1855-1930). The main paper, with 11 plates, is on fossils from the Mediterranean region and contains descriptions and illustrations of new and little known species. Molluscs form the greater part, but shark teeth, and echinoderms are included as well. The smaller paper is an obituary of fellow Sicilian and malacologist, marchese di Monterosato, with a list of his publications. This is the society's Il Naturalista Siciliano, volume 26 [= new series vol. 6](1-2), for the year 1927 with a few unrelated papers including one more by De Gregorio. Uncut, partly unopened. Plate VII is wrongly numbered V. Stamp of the Muséum d'Histoire naturelle in Paris in two text page margins. Margins age-toned, lacks the wrappers, otherwise very good. Rare.
