Numerous original wrappers bound in. = This is a unique three-volume set of the offprints of papers (co)authored by the renowned Dutch botanist Cornelis Gijsbert Gerrit Jan van Steenis (1901-1986), principally dealing with flora of the Malayan region, in particular Java and other Indonesian islands. The three volumes are subdivided as follows: I. "Floristiek - Plantensystematiek" (floristics, plant systematics); II. "Oekologie - Plantengeographie - Botanische exploratie" (Ecology, plant geography, botanical exploration); III. "Biographie - Algemene botanie" (biographies, general botany). The last part includes obituaries. The papers vary in size; a few are a bit trimmed. Uniform library labels at each spine foot; cancelled library stamp on front free endpapers. Otherwise a very good, clean set. Some parts may be quite rare.
