Title: Über den Bau des Monte della Disgrazia. [Signed by the author].
Description: Zürch, Naturforschende Gesellschaft in Zürich, 1921. 8vo (24.1 x 16.9 cm). 65 pp.; one text figure, five plates, including a large, folded plate with profiles. Original printed wrappers. = Rare offprint of a work dedicated to the geology of a single mountain, a 3,678 meters high peak in the Bregaglia range in the Italian Alps, near the Swiss border. It is the highest peak in the Val Masino group, and first climbed in 1862. Unlike the other Bregaglia peaks, which are of granite, the Monte Disgrazia is built by talc-olivine slate and serpentinite, perhaps this is why the Swiss geologist Rudolf Staub (1890-1961) was specially interested in this mountain. Inscribed and signed by the author on the front wrapper - a dedication to the Austrian geologist Leopold Kober (1883-1970). A very good copy.
