Kirnbauer is considered the founder of the Austrian mining folklore, and has published (among others) 176 “Leobener Grüne Hefte” (Leobener green issues; after the colour of the boards) between 1951 and 1978, which may be counted as an irreplaceable and valuable primary sources for mining.” (sagen.at website). Each volume is a republication of an old mining book or manuscript, edited and explained by Kirnbauer. This is volume 25, dealing with the Schwazer Bergbuch, a richly illustrated manuscript written by an unknown Austrian author. Seven copies are known, most are in Austrian and German libraries. The illustrations are clear, often enlarged. Small private owner's stamp on front board and title, otherwise a very good clean copy. Uncommon.
