Spines with printed label. = The complete history of the earth and mineralogy of this famous work, which covers volumes 1-16 of the "Suites à Buffon" edited by Charles Nicolas Sigisbert Sonnini de Manoncourt (1751-1812). This part was also written by Sonnini. With the portrait of Buffon as frontispice to the first volume. Uncut. The boards a bit rubbed, a few sections lightly spotted or toned; one map, of a French mountain range, age-toned, but in all a very good and complete set. Rare.
