Description: Melbourne, Government Printers, 1879. 4to (27.2 x 18.1 cm). Five chromolithographed plates with 20 accompagnying text leaves. Disbound. = One of the most richly illustrated faunal descriptions of Australia; especially interesting because of the many thoroughly observed and carefully described mammals, reptiles, fishes, molluscs and insects. Many of these Australian animals are pictured and described for the first time. In total 20 decades were published, each with a mix of species from various phyla. This part deals with the bryozoan genersa Lepralia (four lithgraphed plates), and Crisia (one plate), The descriptions were provided by P. H. MacGillivray who described many species of which several that were introduced here. The wrappers are from decade IV. Rare. Nissen ZBI, 2828.
