The higher systematics of the protists are in still a flux. This is the third volume of a work of five volumes. It includes the obituary and biography of James Cash (1839-1909). Spine rubbed with some splitting at the hinges, bookplate on the front paste down, small perforated library stamp on the Ray Society series leaf, not on the titlepage, and one text page leaf, stamp (not shining through) on the plate versos, frontispiece detached. Text and plates clean, and in all a good copy.
