Description: Paris, Académie des Sciences, 1875-1878. 4to (27.9 x 21.6 cm). 19 [4, 2, 4, 4, 2, 3] pp. Contemporary half calf over marbled boards. = A suite of five papers by Vaillant on fish systematics, and one on reptiles (in particular on a crocodile species) with Vaillant as junior author. Two of the fish papers contain criticism of the work of Agassiz. All were published in the Comptes Rendus of the academy of sciences of Paris, and these are all offprints. The spine gives as partial title "Fish papers. Le Vaillant. Steind.", but other papers, not by Vaillant, have been removed. A good set. Rare. Dean II, p. 571
